Oracle 3 is a version of the Oracle Database.

Release date: 1981
Status: No longer supported.

Features introduced[edit]

The following new features were introduced with Oracle 3:

  • Atomic execution of SQL statements and transactions (COMMIT and ROLLBACK of transactions)
  • Nonblocking queries (no more read locks)
  • Re-written in the C-programming language
